Another Black Cat.

When I started this one (before Christmas), all I wanted to do was draw a great female character pin-up, being something I had not really done before (to my satisfaction). The focus was definitely on anatomy, pose and mood. At the same time, I wanted to do it without using too many direct references, in the hope that I could could create it in my own way.

The background was created after the character pose was done. This may not be technically the right way to do it. But sometimes the look and feel of the character can determine what setting will be appropriate and this was the case here. I hope I have adequately recreated a New York rooftop at night.

I'd love to hear how this piece works and what I could do to improve in future pieces. There is also an invitation for collaborations to ink and colour this piece.

why are you not commissioning these out? This is incredible. You are an amazing artist. This is one of my faves! I have a coloring artist that would LOVE to color this if you want me to check in with him and introduce you guys. He loves doing collabs for fun. I would love to see this colored.

that means a lot, thanks. This took ages but I like how I have depicted her: the scene is just I what I wanted for her and there's a touch of romance about it (at least in my eyes). I tried the commish experiment and it took up too much time, especially now that I'm working.

If there's one piece from my gallery that I'd love to see coloured it's this one: simply because i feel it's my best work so far. So if you know someone who may be interested do put us in touch.
